Iran executed three men on November 8 in a case linked to January’s protests in Karaj, according to two human rights monitors. The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights named them as Hassan Divband, Hamid Kazemi and Reza Zanganeh. Hengaw said Iran’s judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency also confirmed the executions.
Iran Human Rights Monitor said the executions followed a decision by Iran’s Supreme Court to uphold the death sentences. The monitor reported that eight other defendants in the same case received prison sentences of five to ten years. [evidence-1] [evidence-2]
