RBI Nagpur reported on 6 November that it had trained more than 8,700 bank staff over ten months to handle defective currency notes. The training covered note-refund rules, judging claims and identifying counterfeits. Staff from urban and district cooperative banks, regional rural banks, state cooperative banks and commercial banks took part.
RBI Nagpur separately said it had run 18 digital-banking awareness programmes in 13 districts of Vidarbha and Marathwada in 2026–27, reaching 6,210 participants. Those sessions addressed safe use of digital payments and common forms of fraud.
