TRAI moves interconnect agreement registration online from January

Telecom operators will register agreements that link their networks through a TRAI portal under rules released on 6 November. The amendment takes effect on 1 January 2027. Operators must submit agreements already in force on that date within 15 days, and file new agreements or changes within 15 days of signing or amendment.

Operators will submit searchable PDFs. The portal will also take applications to inspect the register or obtain copies, subject to the rules. TRAI set inspection at ₹1,500 per hour or part of an hour and copies or extracts at ₹500 per page.
