Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on 7 November that Russian strikes on substations and power lines had caused serious shortages in Kyiv and parts of northern, eastern and central Ukraine. He said the country was generating more electricity than it was using, but damage to the grid was preventing power from reaching some areas. Authorities were adding repair crews.
Zelenskyy also said Kyiv’s Northern Bridge was hit overnight and that the Interior Ministry would work on backup transport arrangements for the capital. Separately, Naftogaz said strikes on its oil and gas facility in central Ukraine caused a fire and damaged equipment. The company said its employees were evacuated without injury and specialists were assessing the damage. [evidence-1] [evidence-2]
