A Delhi Special Executive Magistrate ordered the release of Cockroach Janta Party leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das on October 21 after accepting their sureties. This adds an important detail to the earlier release announcement: the magistrate accepted the guarantees furnished on their behalf.
Their physical departure from jail could not be independently verified by the time of this update. The reports checked establish that release was ordered; they do not establish an exit time for either man. This does not establish that they remain inside jail.
The acceptance of sureties is reported. The full written October 21 release order was not obtained, so the current bond amount, duration, and any additional restrictions cannot be reliably listed. There is no verified basis here to claim that today’s order imposed a blanket ban on protests, travel or social-media activity.
Reports of ₹50,000 surety bonds and an undertaking to maintain peace and good behaviour for one year concern their earlier release on October 11. Those earlier terms should not automatically be presented as the complete conditions of the October 21 order.
No fresh statement from either man after physically leaving jail could be authenticated in the material checked. There is therefore no verified new quotation from them to report. In an earlier response following their October 11 release, CJP maintained that the peace bond did not prohibit peaceful protest. That position predates today’s order.
On October 10, police detained Ranka, Das and CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke at Delhi airport ahead of a planned protest. They were released on October 11 after furnishing peace bonds.
Ranka and Das were detained again on October 13 after entering the restricted Jantar Mantar site. Police alleged that they breached earlier peace bonds. On October 14, the magistrate sent them to five days of judicial custody.

On October 19, custody was extended by two days amid objections to the proposed sureties. Their lawyers challenged the continued detention and the rejection of those sureties.
On October 21, the Delhi High Court allowed them to withdraw their custody petitions after discussing the alternative appellate remedy. The release order subsequently reported came from the Special Executive Magistrate, who accepted their sureties.
CJP demanded Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged unfair deletions during voter-roll revisions. The Election Commission and BJP denied allegations of manipulation. The release proceedings did not decide that electoral dispute.
The verified development is a release order following acceptance of sureties. It is not an acquittal or proof that the underlying allegations have been dismissed. Confirmation of their physical departure, the full written conditions and authenticated new statements remains outstanding in this update.
