The Ports, Shipping and Waterways Ministry and its organisations have reported ₹9.79 crore in revenue from scrap and electronic-waste disposal under Special Campaign 6. An October 26 ministry update also records 88,171 square feet of space freed and 173 cleanliness campaigns.
The ministry says 33,199 physical and electronic files were reviewed, of which 9,808 were closed or weeded out. The reviewed total and closed-file total measure different stages of records management. The release describes an ongoing campaign, rather than a final report on every identified target.
One initiative highlighted is the proposed transformation of Kumartuli Ghat by Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, working with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone. The ministry describes an aim to restore the neglected ghat as an inclusive public space. It does not provide a completion date, project cost or evidence that the full transformation is finished.
The figures are ministry-reported campaign results, not an independent audit. Disposal receipts should not be confused with port operating revenue, profits or cargo throughput, and the group-wide amount should not be added to any overlapping organisation subtotal.
