Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada met Liechtenstein Deputy Prime Minister Sabine Monauni in New Delhi on October 27 to discuss bilateral trade and investment, the Commerce Ministry said. A business delegation from Liechtenstein also participated.
The meeting took place during Hereditary Prince Alois’s October 25–28 visit to India. The release describes exploration of business opportunities rather than a newly signed commercial agreement.
The two sides explored cooperation in technology, innovation, financial services and manufacturing. Prasada invited Liechtenstein companies to expand investment and partnerships with Indian businesses. Delegation participants included the Liechtenstein Chamber of Industry and Commerce, LGT India, Hilti, Savannah Seeds, Liechtenstein Languages, Open Cosmos and Lightrock.
The ministry placed the discussion within the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement. It referred to the wider agreement’s investment and employment commitments over 15 years; those should not be treated as money invested or jobs created by this meeting, or as commitments belonging to Liechtenstein alone.
No new deal value, project completion or implementation deadline was announced in this release. The immediate development is the bilateral meeting and the identified areas for further engagement.
