The Bureau of Indian Standards said it seized about 13,000 air fryers and portable blenders, valued at approximately ₹20 crore, during an October 27 search at a Bengaluru warehouse of Cavitak Global Commerce Private Limited (GRIPIT). Its October 28 release identified the appliances as imported and marketed under the Ninja brand.
BIS alleged that the seized products lacked the mandatory BIS Standard Mark and violated the Electrical Appliances for Kitchen (Quality Control) Order, 2023. It said legal proceedings under the BIS Act were being initiated. These are the enforcement authority's findings and allegations; the release does not report a court judgment or include a response from the company.
The announcement concerns the seized stock. It does not establish that every product sold under the brand is non-compliant or announce a nationwide recall.
