The three-day India Chem 2026 exhibition and conference concluded in Mumbai on October 24 after industry forums, international discussions and a new student innovation challenge. The Chemicals and Petrochemicals Department says the 14th edition, jointly organised with FICCI, drew more than 5,000 visitors over three days.
Japan was the partner country. Andhra Pradesh was among the Indian states with a pavilion, but the release does not identify a new AP-specific investment agreement, project approval or funding allocation.
The event included a CEO Forum and India–Japan, India–US and India–EU discussions on trade, investment and technology cooperation. Roundtables covered speciality chemicals, infrastructure, agrochemicals, environmental issues and plant machinery.
The official account describes discussions intended to support investment and growth. It gives no aggregate value for investment contracts concluded, so the conference's ambitions should not be reported as money already committed or spent.
The first prize in the India Chem Youth Innovation Challenge went to Soumya Bhole and Sarthak Kale of ICT Mumbai. Suman Batwe and Saloni Mhadesar of VNIT Nagpur took second, followed by Jash Prasad and Smit Bambhorliya of IIT Gandhinagar. The challenge asked students to work on chemical-industry problems, with an industry jury assessing solutions.
The closing report establishes the event's completion, its discussion agenda and the named student awards. Subsequent projects or commercial collaborations would require separate confirmation beyond participation in the expo.
