The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation will hold a workshop on revising state-level Index of Industrial Production methods in Thiruvananthapuram on October 28–30, 2026, with the state's Department of Economics and Statistics. Around 60 officials from MoSPI and state and Union territory statistical departments are expected, according to its October 27 release.
The ministry says the All-India IIP base year has been updated from 2011–12 to 2022–23. The workshop will familiarise states with proposed changes and help finalise the items and reporting factories used for their indices. This does not establish that every state's revised series is already operational.
The release lists changes to the national series including updated items, weights and factory coverage, and coverage of gas supply, water supply, sewerage and waste management. It announces no new industrial growth rate.
