A revised vehicle-access and parking notice has been issued for Thrissur Railway Station as Phase I redevelopment involves dismantling part of the main terminal building. The PIB release dated 25 October 2026 says a protective shelter is being erected to support safe demolition work.
The notice says the road along the affected stretch will close from Monday, 26 October, afternoon. It also describes through-vehicle movement between Entry No. 1 on the north side and Entry No. 2 on the south side, in both directions, as closed with immediate effect. Because the notice uses these two timing descriptions, travellers should follow current station signs and traffic-personnel instructions rather than assume the through route remains available until Monday afternoon.
Vehicles coming from Kokkala are directed to take a U-turn after dropping passengers and leave by the one-way road in front of the RMS Office towards Addyan Moola. Vehicles arriving from Divanji Moola are directed to drop passengers, turn around at the Flag Post area and return by the same route.
Parking, including premium parking, will not be available in the circulating area, the notice says. Passengers and visitors are directed to the parking facility behind the Booking Office. Taxi and auto-rickshaw services will remain available on both sides of the station. The release gives no reopening date or exact clock time for the Monday-afternoon closure.
