The Navy reported 25 signed iDEX contracts worth more than ₹1,900 crore at SWAVLAMBAN 2026 in New Delhi. Naval chief Admiral Krishna Swaminathan separately cited 41 Acceptance of Necessity cases exceeding ₹3,500 crore, according to the October 26 Defence Ministry release. These are different procurement stages; the figures should not be added together or treated as all contracted on that day.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called for a time-bound technology and supply-chain roadmap and greater cooperation among industry, research institutions and the services. A proposed dual-use roadmap would identify technologies useful to civilian and military shipping. The call does not establish a newly approved funding scheme.
The October 26–27 seminar includes startup and MSME displays. Proposals, prototypes, contracts and induction remain distinct: an exhibition display alone is not proof of operational deployment or payment.
