DiscussionThe story behind the news.

UIDAI made a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra operational in Kannur, Kerala, on October 29, 2026, according to its release carried by PIB. The centre has eight operational service kits and offers Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, grievance redressal and related services.

The release says the centre functions on all days except public holidays. It will also receive Aadhaar holders' grievances for resolution through UIDAI's Regional Office. The announcement does not specify daily opening hours, a street address, booking arrangements or transaction fees, so those details should not be inferred from the opening announcement.

With Kannur, UIDAI reported eight operational Aadhaar Seva Kendras across Kerala. Six more centres are scheduled to open in coming days, which would bring the total to 14. Those six are planned openings, rather than centres confirmed as already operational; the release gives no individual opening dates or district list.
