The Competition Commission of India has approved Vega SAS's proposed acquisition of 16.2% of Vodafone Group PLC's issued share capital, according to an October 31, 2026 release.
CCI identifies Vega as a holding company wholly owned by Maya SAS, incorporated in France. The notice says Vega itself has no business activity in India, while relevant affiliates undertake activities here. Vodafone Group is described as providing telecommunications services in Europe and Africa and having an Indian presence through Vodafone Idea Limited.
The proposed 16.2% acquisition concerns Vodafone Group PLC, not a directly announced acquisition of 16.2% of Vodafone Idea. The release gives no transaction value or closing date. It reports competition approval and does not establish completion or any change to Indian mobile tariffs or services.
