Science on Wheels targets 50 Himachal schools as Mandi visits begin

IIT Mandi, Plaksha University and the IDYM Foundation are taking practical science sessions to Himachal Pradesh schools. An October 26 release says the state segment of Science on Wheels launched on October 17 and has begun visits in Mandi district.

The target is 50 schools across districts including Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra. Initial visits covered government senior secondary schools in Badog, Baggi (K), Bari Gumanu, Batheri and Deori. Fifty is the target, not the number already reached in Himachal Pradesh.

Activities for classes six to twelve cover space technology, robotics, sustainability and water filtration. Partners report earlier outreach to more than 7,500 pupils in 70 schools in Chhattisgarh and Punjab; those totals are not new Himachal beneficiaries.
