The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation has extended its New Amnesty Scheme 2025 through December 31, 2026, giving eligible employers and insured persons more time to use its dispute-resolution window. The Labour Ministry announced the extension on October 29 through PIB.
The earlier window ended on September 30. The extension covers October 1–December 31 on the existing terms and conditions, according to the release. It is an extension of a settlement mechanism, rather than a blanket cancellation of contribution dues or every pending case.
The ministry says court cases filed up to March 31, 2025 are eligible. For ad-hoc assessments, the scheme provides for payment of actual contributions and interest without damages being levied.
For withdrawal of cases where employers have already paid dues, the release specifies payment of 10% of the disputed damages. It separately says cases brought by ESIC for failure to submit records or delayed payment, where compliance subsequently occurred, may be withdrawn with court permission. These are distinct conditions and should not be treated as an unconditional waiver.
The announcement gives no figures for cases already settled under the extended window. It does not establish that any individual employer’s case qualifies or has been withdrawn.
The ministry links the official scheme flyer at https://esic.gov.in/attachments/publicationfile/Amnesty_Flyer_2025_1762755260.pdf . Applicants should check the applicable conditions with ESIC before the December 31 closing date; KROV does not determine eligibility or process settlements.
