Mumbai Central division ticket checks run through November 14

Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division is conducting a special ticket-checking drive from October 31 through November 14. The railway said on November 4 that it deployed teams at stations and on trains across the division ahead of the expected Diwali rush.

Checks on trains and at stations

The teams check tickets and relevant identity documents and enforce existing railway rules. Western Railway asked passengers to travel with valid tickets and pointed to digital ticketing as an option. Its notice gives no revised fare or penalty schedule.
