Tourism businesses from the eight North Eastern states are scheduled to meet domestic and overseas buyers in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, at the 14th International Tourism Mart from 29 to 31 October. The Union tourism ministry announced the programme on 28 October, ahead of the three-day event at Hotel Vivanta.
The ministry expects more than 200 participants, including 43 international buyers from 22 countries. These are expected participation figures, rather than confirmed attendance or completed business deals. Destination presentations will cover Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
Business-to-business meetings are planned for 30 October, giving tourism service providers and buyers a forum to discuss products and partnerships. A regional meeting of North Eastern tourism ministers is also scheduled that day. The programme includes a North East Bazaar featuring handicrafts and textiles, cultural performances and planned visits around Tawang.
Technical discussions will examine the live-events and concert economy and tourist access to Protected and Restricted Areas. A discussion on access does not itself announce a change in entry-permit requirements. The release sets out a forthcoming trade event; it does not report new visitor totals, investment commitments or signed contracts.
