India won gold, silver and bronze in men's javelin throw at the Asian Para Games, according to an October 23 statement from the Prime Minister's Office. It named Sumit as the gold medallist, Mahendra Gurjar as the silver medallist and Sandip Sanjay Sargar as the bronze medallist.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the athletes and described their achievements as a proud moment for Indian para-athletics. The statement was published by the Press Information Bureau at 10:25 pm IST on October 23.
The announcement does not specify the athletes' competition classifications, throwing distances or the date of each performance. It therefore does not establish that the three medals came from a single classification's final. A detailed comparison of performances would require those event results; this report is limited to the medal information announced by the PMO.
