The Jaipur (Khatipura)–Tatanagar–Santragachi Express was flagged off on October 26, the Railway Ministry said. It describes improved connections across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, linking Jaipur with Jamshedpur and the Kolkata region.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw participated through video conference and said the service would help migrant workers, students, businesses and other passengers. Those are expected benefits, not measured increases in employment or trade.
The release does not provide train numbers, frequency, departure times or fares. It also reports trial runs on a completed Kolkata Metro section; trials should not be confused with regular passenger service. Travellers need the official timetable and booking information before planning a journey.
