An all-women coaches’ course under the All India Tennis Association’s ACE 2032 initiative brought coach education, talent identification and high-performance training into focus at New Delhi’s DLTA Tennis Stadium on October 24. Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse addressed the programme, according to the ministry’s PIB release.
Supported by the sports ministry and the Sports Authority of India, the initiative seeks stronger links between coaching education and athlete development. Participants discussed practical training, mentorship and continued professional development for women coaches.
Khadse called for opportunities for women and girls to extend from grassroots participation to coaching, sports science, administration and event management. She highlighted access to qualified coaches, suitable infrastructure, regular competition and sustained support as requirements for developing talent.
The discussions also covered links between grassroots programmes, Khelo India Centres, accredited academies and Centres of Excellence. The ministry said ASMITA women’s leagues, launched in 2021 under Khelo India, had reached more than three lakh women. That is the ministry’s wider programme figure, rather than attendance at this course.
Participants raised the importance of safe sporting environments, athlete welfare and professional accountability. The course’s stated focus was to strengthen women’s coaching skills and routes into sports careers; the release did not announce a new nationwide recruitment drive or open application window.
