Rashtriya Raksha University says the basic training course for Gujarat's Jail Sahayak trainees now leads to a Diploma in Correctional Administration through its affiliation and accreditation process. An October 26 Home Ministry release links the arrangement to an agreement signed with the Gujarat Institute of Prisons and Correctional Administration in February 2026.
The university presented course-completion certificates to 20 trainees from the institute as part of a cohort of 540 graduating trainees. The distinction matters: the release does not say all 540 received diploma certificates at that ceremony. It identifies the occasion as a Police Commemoration Day programme but does not give the ceremony's calendar date, so it should not be presented as an event that necessarily happened on October 26.
The programme sits under the university's Global Correctional Administration Studies initiative in its School of Behavioural Sciences and Forensic Investigations. The official account describes an emphasis on correction, rehabilitation and social reintegration in prison administration.
This is a training and qualification update. The release does not announce new jail-assistant vacancies, public admissions, application deadlines or guaranteed appointments.
