EN · తెలుగుA crop-protection campaign launched in Bagaud village in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district on October 22 aims to help farmers recognise pests and diseases early and adopt more sustainable farming practices. ICAR’s National Institute of Biotic Stress Management, Raipur, organised the initiative with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bemetara.
At the launch of ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyaan’, agricultural scientists discussed crop diversification, crop rotation, integrated pest management, balanced nutrition and careful use of chemical inputs. Soil health and technologies suited to local conditions were also highlighted, according to the PIB release.
The campaign seeks to bring research-backed crop-protection methods into farmers’ fields. The release describes the programme’s objectives and advice; it does not report measured reductions in crop losses or verified increases in farmers’ incomes.
