The Government e-Marketplace says its AABHAR gifting collection now features 294 product catalogue listings from ten State and Central handloom and handicraft emporiums. An October 26 Ministry of Commerce and Industry release presents the figures as part of the current promotional campaign for government buyers. The storefront itself was launched in July 2024.
Participating emporiums include Central Cottage Industries, Khadi India, Garvi Gurjari, Himcrafts, Jharcraft, Cauvery, Mrignayani, Marhati, Purbashree and Poompuhar. The collection covers handicrafts, handlooms, artisanal food, pantry products and personal care items, with products associated with the One District, One Product initiative and geographical indication tags.
Seven additional organisations are at an advanced stage of seller onboarding, according to GeM: the Coffee Board, Manjusha, Biswa Bangla, Jammu and Kashmir Handloom and Handicrafts Marketing Corporation, Merakai, Utkalika and Panthoibi. Their proposed catalogues should not be counted as already available listings.
The government describes the collection as a route for public procurement to support artisans, weavers, rural entrepreneurs and women-led enterprises. Catalogue listings are not sales or purchase orders. The release gives no collection-wide sales total, earnings figure for artisans or new procurement requirement. Government buyers can consult the official storefront at https://gem.gov.in/Aabhar.
