TRAI has published findings from mobile-network tests conducted in Vijayanagara district, Karnataka, on August 11–14, 2026. The October 26 release concerns performance on tested routes at that time, not live conditions for all customers today. The exercise covered 439.8 kilometres of city driving, 13 hotspots, 7.6 kilometres of walking and 74 kilometres of highway driving.
Overall district average download speeds were reported as 87.50 Mbps for Airtel on 5G/4G, 10.47 Mbps for BSNL on 4G, 151.30 Mbps for RJIL on 5G/4G and 22.09 Mbps for VIL on 5G/4G/2G. Technology combinations differ; these are not uniform same-technology comparisons or guaranteed customer speeds.
Reported dropped calls were one out of 471 established calls for Airtel, 37 out of 425 for BSNL, two out of 478 for RJIL and eight out of 467 for VIL. Separate highway measurements cover Hosapete to Banavikallu via NH-50 and should not be merged with the district figures.
TRAI says findings have been shared with operators for further action. Linked annexure maps and detailed reports were not used as evidence here. Vijayanagara is in Karnataka, distinct from Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh.
