A concessional annual local pass for eligible National Highway toll-plaza users will take effect on November 1, 2026, the Road Transport and Highways Ministry announced on October 27. The fee is ₹1,500 where the plaza is outside municipal or local town limits and ₹3,000 where it is within those limits.
The option is for non-commercial vehicle owners living within 20 km of the specific fee plaza and using a valid, functional FASTag. Eligible owners may choose the existing monthly pass or the annual local pass. The annual pass works only at the plaza for which it is issued.
It is excluded where tolls use a closed user-fee collection system, or where a service road or alternative road is available. The ministry says the pass will be available at eligible plazas from November 1 and through the Rajmargyatra app from December 1, 2026. App availability therefore begins later than plaza availability.
The government may revise the rates annually on April 1. The announcement does not identify every eligible plaza or guarantee a particular driver's eligibility.
