The Jal Shakti ministry has announced the launch of Punah Bharan, a mobile application intended to help users plan artificial groundwater recharge. Developed by BISAG-N with the National Water Mission, the app can identify potential recharge zones within a radius of up to three kilometres, according to the ministry's October 28 release.
A companion web portal offers village-level maps of artificial recharge structure zones, geographic information tools and thematic layers. The platform uses information including rainfall, groundwater levels and yield, terrain slope and drainage to support the choice of potential sites and structures suited to local conditions.
The announcement concerns a planning tool. It does not report completed recharge works, measured increases in groundwater or funding approved for individual villages. The release does not supply an app-store download link; no unofficial download address is being presented here.
