The Ministry of Tribal Affairs said a tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed on October 22, 2026, involving NSTFDC, NSIC and Rourkela Steel Plant, to support livelihood promotion and entrepreneurship development for Scheduled Tribe youth through the Livelihood Business Incubation Centre in Rourkela, Odisha.
According to the ministry, the centre, established in 2018, has trained students in areas including welding, furniture making, bakery and beautician courses. It said more than 600 students have benefited and some have started businesses including bakeries, mushroom cultivation, beauty parlours and tailoring. These are official assertions in the PIB release.
