A one-day health and awareness camp at Nandini Mines Hospital brought together 65 women and girls, including school students, teachers, contract workers and local residents, the Steel Ministry said in an October 23 release. Bhilai Steel Plant organised the camp under its Mission Lakshmi CSR initiative with Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Research Centre, Sector-9.
The release reports 65 blood samples collected for tests covering haemoglobin, blood glucose, sickling and blood groups. Pap smear testing was also made available. Availability of screening is distinct from the number of people screened or any diagnosis; the release provides no patient-level results.
A cardiac monitor was provided to Nandini Mines Hospital. The programme also included sessions on nutrition, reproductive health, personal hygiene and women’s safety, alongside medical consultations.
The announcement describes services delivered and equipment provided through the camp. It does not give a separate calendar date for the camp or establish longer-term health outcomes.
