The government reports releasing ₹77.98 crore in grants-in-aid to 755 projects under the Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. The figures appear in an October 27 PIB backgrounder on Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY). They describe releases for that reporting period, rather than a new payment announced for individual senior citizens today.
IPSrC supports eligible organisations running facilities and services such as senior citizen homes, continuous-care homes, mobile medical units and physiotherapy clinics. The 755 figure is a count of funded projects; it should not be read as the number of individual beneficiaries or newly opened homes.
The backgrounder says implementing NGOs must submit progress reports, utilisation certificates and audited financial statements, while a project-monitoring unit conducts field inspections. A grant release alone does not establish that every project has spent its allocation or completed its intended services.
