Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate Arvind Limited’s new garment manufacturing facility in Varanasi and the Reserve Bank of India’s Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar on 25 October 2026, according to a Prime Minister’s Office announcement issued through PIB on 24 October. These are forthcoming inaugurations, rather than completed events.
The Varanasi inauguration is scheduled for around 11 am. The PMO describes the garment facility as a predominantly women-led manufacturing initiative serving a global customer base. It says the project is expected to create employment opportunities, particularly for women. The release does not specify an investment amount, production capacity or number of jobs.
In Bhubaneswar, the inauguration is scheduled for around 4.45 pm. According to the PMO, four data centres will host critical payment and settlement systems and other initiatives. The release reports Tier IV certification by the Uptime Institute. The associated Cybersecurity Training Institute is intended to support training, research and capability development in cybersecurity and enterprise technology for the banking, financial services and insurance sector, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing. These descriptions and the certification claim are attributed to the official announcement.
The visit also includes an Air Force Day aerial display at Namo Ghat in Varanasi at around 1 pm, commemorating the Indian Air Force’s 94th anniversary under the theme “Wings over Ganges”. Aircraft and display-team participation listed in the release remains scheduled participation.
