IAF holds industry outreach on unmanned and autonomous systems roadmap

The Indian Air Force held an industry outreach programme at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on 21 October 2026, according to a Ministry of Defence release. The event was intended to familiarise MSMEs, start-ups and industry participants with the IAF’s long-term requirements and future plans for unmanned and autonomous systems.

The release said about 100 representatives of drone companies and industry took part. It said the IAF presented its future requirements and technical priorities and distributed an IAF roadmap booklet. The roadmap focuses on networked unmanned systems operating at different levels and on indigenous capabilities, including propulsion, autonomous software, navigation and standardised interfaces.
