An October 26 Commerce Department update sets out the continued availability of RELIEF Component II through March 31, 2027. The department says the extension was notified on September 30, 2026, through Notification No. 37/2026-27. The publication date therefore marks a statement about an existing extension, rather than a new approval taken on October 26.
RELIEF is an intervention under the Export Promotion Mission addressing export risks and logistics disruption associated with West Asia. According to the release, Component II encourages ECGC insurance for shipments to specified regions by offering 95% risk coverage. It covers eligible standalone and whole-turnover policies obtained on or after March 16, 2026.
The department lists full-container-load, less-than-container-load and refrigerated-container cargo, while excluding energy shipments. It also describes protection against eligible premium increases above pre-disruption levels during the eligible period. These are specified programme conditions, rather than a promise that every shipment or claim will receive payment.
