India Post and UTI Mutual Fund signed a memorandum of understanding extending their existing agreement in Mumbai on October 29, 2026. The expanded collaboration is intended to use the postal network for doorstep Know Your Customer verification for investors, including in remote and underserved areas, according to the Communications Ministry's release through PIB.
The ministry describes the Pan-India KYC Verification Project as an extension of an earlier initiative addressing pending KYC requirements and documentation gaps. The release does not specify a nationwide service-start date, participating post-office list, booking procedure or charges. Signing the agreement should therefore be distinguished from confirmation that doorstep appointments are already available at every location. KYC verification is an identity-compliance service; the announcement does not promise investment returns or guarantee acceptance of an individual application.
