INS Tarkash arrived at Port Louis in Mauritius on October 30, 2026, during its ongoing deployment to the Southern Indian Ocean Region, according to the Ministry of Defence. The ministry reported the arrival in a release issued that evening.
The release says the crew is scheduled to engage with the Mauritius Coast Guard through professional interactions and joint training, alongside cultural exchanges and community outreach. It does not report completed training results, a combat operation or a newly signed defence agreement.
The ship is also scheduled to participate in the 192nd Aapravasi Diwas commemorations on November 2. The observance marks the arrival of the first group of indentured labourers from India at Aapravasi Ghat in Port Louis on November 2, 1834. These commemorative activities remain upcoming in the ministry's announcement.
