Kaligiri: lightning advisory valid until 12:15 am on October 22

Andhra Pradesh SDMA has issued a possible-lightning advisory for the areas identified in its official message as “nlr-kaligiri Mandal”. The alert was distributed through NDMA SACHET on October 21, 2026.

Issued at 10:13:58 pm IST on October 21, the notice lists an effective time of 10:15 pm that night and an expiry of 12:15 am IST on October 22. The expiry falls after midnight, on the next calendar day.

The alert marks severity as “Severe”, urgency as “Expected” and certainty as “Possible”. These are warning classifications for a potential event; the notice does not establish that lightning has struck or caused damage.

The official message advises people to avoid trees, towers, poles, fields and open spaces during thunderstorms, seek shelter in safe buildings and follow SDMA guidelines.

This notice applies to the issuer-listed areas, rather than an entire district or state. The area wording above is retained without guessing district names from its prefixes. After the expiry time, consult the latest official advisory instead of treating this report as a current warning.
