TRAI has released findings from independent mobile-network drive tests conducted from September 7 to 10, 2026 in Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti and Balrampur and on the Prayagraj–Gonda and Gonda–Bahraich highways. The communications ministry published the findings on October 28.
The work covered 367.7 km of city driving, 2.7 km of walking tests in Gonda and Balrampur, and 256 km of highways. Tests examined signal coverage, call setup and drops, call silence, speech quality, data speeds and latency.
TRAI says the observations represent the tested routes at the time of measurement. They do not establish present-day performance at every location or nationwide operator rankings. The published speed figures involve different network generations across providers, requiring care in comparisons.
