Two Bihar Gramin Bank industrial disputes were settled through conciliation in Patna on October 22 and 23, the Labour and Employment Ministry reported on October 27. It expects the settlements to benefit about 10,900 employees, with financial benefits estimated at ₹77.69 crore. These are settlement estimates, not confirmation that all payments have been made.
The October 22 settlement with the Bihar Gramin Bank Adhikari Sangh covers around 8,400 employees and estimated benefits of ₹67.17 crore. It addresses matters including performance-linked incentives, officiating and travel allowances, wages, promotions and compassionate appointments.
The October 23 agreement with the Bihar Gramin Bank Workers Organisation concerns around 2,500 employees and estimated benefits of ₹10.52 crore. That figure includes approximately ₹9.02 crore in recurring annual benefits; the annual component should not be added again to the overall total. Issues covered include HRA, transport allowance for employees with disabilities, overtime and promotion transparency.
