The All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi announced the launch of AyushTech Innovate: National Open Ayurveda AI Challenge on October 29, 2026. Techfest, IIT Bombay, is organising the challenge in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush and AIIA, according to the ministry's release through PIB.
The initiative is intended to encourage AI solutions using AyurParam, described in the release as IIT Bombay's open-source Ayurveda large language model. The proposed areas include classical-text retrieval, research, clinical practice, treatment planning and public-health awareness. These are areas for development under the challenge; the announcement does not establish that any resulting system has demonstrated clinical effectiveness or is approved for patient care.
The national grand finale is scheduled at IIT Bombay from December 15 to 18, 2026. The release does not give a registration deadline, entry requirements, prize amounts or an application link. The finale dates should therefore not be treated as the closing date for submissions. AIIA also announced an intellectual-property-rights facility to help Ayurveda innovators understand protection of their work as they move towards product development and commercialisation.
