Twelve memoranda of understanding involving proposed investments of about ₹4,200 crore were signed with prospective investors for approximately 300 acres at the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster in Gaya, Bihar, according to a Ministry of Commerce and Industry release issued through PIB on 24 October 2026. The ministry put the estimated employment potential at 16,095 opportunities. These are investment proposals and employment estimates, rather than money already invested or jobs already created.
The agreements were announced alongside the formal launch of Bihar Integrated Manufacturing City Gaya Limited at Bodh Gaya. The proposed investments cover food processing, automobile components, medicinal products, pharmaceuticals and other manufacturing activities. The implementing company’s website and Integrated Land Allotment Portal were also launched, the ministry said.
BIMCGL is the special-purpose vehicle implementing IMC Gaya under the Amritsar–Kolkata Industrial Corridor. It was incorporated on 6 January 2025 as an equal-equity joint venture between the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust.
The ministry said physical construction of cluster infrastructure has commenced and that the project-management consultant and trunk-infrastructure EPC contractor have been appointed. This describes work in progress, not completion of the industrial cluster or commissioning of every proposed factory. The release also gives separate earlier MoU totals and wider project forecasts; those figures should not be added to the latest agreements as if they were realised investment.
