The Rural Development Ministry has announced grievance-redressal rules under the VB–G RAM G rural employment scheme, with an enquiry deadline of seven working days and a resolution deadline of 15 days from receipt. Its November 2 release describes a system spanning Gram Panchayat, Block and District levels.
The two deadlines use different wording: seven working days for enquiry, but 15 days for resolution. The announcement does not describe the latter as 15 working days.
According to the ministry, any person may submit a scheme-related grievance in person to the designated officer, by speed post with delivery proof, through the designated digital infrastructure, or through telephone, designated helplines and other state-approved modes.
Physical grievances must be entered on the digital system on receipt day or, if that is not feasible, the next working day. The complainant must receive an acknowledgement with the registration number, receipt date and receiving authority’s designation. The ministry says registration cannot be refused because of format, language, submission method or procedural deficiency.
The rules provide for digital recording of findings and action, communication of the outcome, and escalation to the next higher level if a complaint remains unresolved after the prescribed 15 days. Physical submissions must also receive a physical communication of the outcome.
Appeals follow Schedule I of the VB–G RAM G Act, 2025, the release says. It does not supply a live portal address, helpline number or state-specific officer directory. Notification of the framework should therefore be distinguished from confirmation that every local channel is operational.
