Reports on state-level project pipelines for climate-resilient cities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were launched at the ARISE Cities Forum in New Delhi on October 27, according to the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry. Reports for Gujarat and Tamil Nadu were also released.
The announcement identifies the publications but does not provide their individual project lists, costs, funding approvals or construction schedules. A report launch should therefore not be treated as sanctioning or completing infrastructure in either Telugu state.
The two-day forum opened at the India Habitat Centre, organised by ICLEI South Asia with the National Institute of Urban Affairs and ministry support. The ministry reported participation from more than 200 delegates representing over 50 cities across more than 18 countries.
Day-one discussions covered water management, energy transition, biodiversity, coastal resilience and public health in urban planning. A memorandum of understanding was exchanged between the Global Buildings Performance Network and ICLEI South Asia.
Other launches included a sustainable urban mobility centre, gender-responsive transport material and nature-based canal-restoration guidelines. The Delhi Declaration on Local Action for Global Climate Goals is scheduled for adoption at the forum’s closing on October 28 and presentation at COP31 in Antalya. Adoption is still a planned step in this October 27 release.
For Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the confirmed development is publication of the project-pipeline reports. Their full documents are needed before reporting specific investments or local works.
