Truecaller announces phased India rollout of its Lite Android app

Truecaller announced Truecaller Lite in India on October 27, 2026, describing it as a separate Android app for phones with limited memory and storage. The company says the download is about 10 MB and targets Android phones with up to 4 GB of RAM. These are company specifications, not KROV performance-test results.

The issuer says the free app is rolling out through Google Play in India in phases, with eligible devices expected to receive it over the coming weeks. The announcement does not establish immediate availability on every eligible phone.

Listed functions include caller identification, spam-call blocking, a dialler with contacts and call history, number search and an after-call screen. Messaging, voicemail, Family Protection and the AI assistant are excluded. Claims about scam detection remain Truecaller's claims; the launch is not a guarantee that fraudulent calls will be eliminated.
