Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda asked agencies to finish remaining construction at AIIMS Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir by March 2027. At a November 5 review, officials told him the major buildings had been completed and that verification and formal handover were under way for the first phase.
The first phase includes outpatient and registration blocks, residences and designated hostels. Nadda also asked the institute and its procurement agency to prioritise equipment and furniture needed to start outpatient services. The March target applies to construction.
