Brazil will use the COP31 climate talks in Türkiye to make the case for funding that helps health systems prepare for extreme weather. Its health ministry said on November 4 that Brazil plans to present its public health system’s emergency response model and seek wider participation in the Belém Health Action Plan.
The plan, launched at COP30, sets out 60 actions to help health systems adapt to climate risks. The ministry said 40 countries had endorsed it and more than 50 organizations supported it. COP31 is scheduled for November 9–20. [evidence-1]
