Murasu had weakened from a severe cyclonic storm to a cyclonic storm over south coastal Andhra Pradesh by 1:30 pm IST on November 3, 2026, IMD reported. Its update was issued at 2:10 pm IST and describes conditions at that observation time.
IMD placed the centre about 40 km west-northwest of Bapatla, 60 km north of Ongole and 80 km southwest of Vijayawada. Winds near the centre were 80–90 km/h, gusting to 100 km/h. These figures describe the storm’s centre, rather than measurements for every nearby town.
The department forecast further movement towards the north-northwest and weakening into a deep depression by midnight on November 3, with winds of 55–65 km/h, gusting to 75 km/h. That midnight stage remains a forecast in this update.
