Euro-area net saving fell to €868 billion over the four quarters ending June 2026, from €895 billion over the four quarters ending March, the ECB reported on October 28. That is a €27 billion decline across rolling annual totals, rather than a single-quarter fall of that size.
Household debt was 80.3% of income in the second quarter, against 80.5% a year earlier. Non-financial companies’ consolidated debt-to-GDP ratio eased to 66.1% from 66.4%. These revised historical accounts describe balance-sheet conditions; they do not announce a policy-rate decision.
