Poland began two days of national mourning on November 8 for the victims of the previous day’s shooting in Kraków. President Karol Nawrocki signed the order on November 7, and the State Fire Service confirmed on Sunday that the observance was underway.
The order applies nationwide on November 8 and 9. It calls for Poland’s flag to fly at half-mast, including at state and municipal buildings. It also directs public and licensed broadcasters and newspaper and magazine editors to take the commemoration into account during the mourning period. [evidence-1] [evidence-2]
