Singareni Collieries Company Limited took first prize in the underground category at the Coal Ministry’s annual mine ratings awards in Raipur on 2 November. The awards assessed mine performance for the 2024–25 financial year.
The ministry said 50 mines received five stars. Ten placed first, second or third in their categories with scores above 93%. Northern Coalfields and NTPC received first prize in the opencast category. The ratings assess areas including mine safety, environmental management, productivity and community welfare.
