NITI Aayog and TEXMiN, a technology research initiative at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, signed a joint statement of intent on critical and strategic minerals, NITI Aayog said on 3 November.
The statement sets out cooperation on research, technical studies, policy support and training. The discussions also covered ways to recover minerals from secondary sources such as coal fly ash and electronic waste. The announcement described areas for research and gave no funding award or commercial production timetable.
